Nova Scotia police dubbed Millie Weeks “Black Widow” not without a cause. The woman, also known as Melissa Friedrich, was arrested again and accused of the attempted murder of her husband of a fortnight.

The local media reports say that Cape Breton cops became concerned after her new husband fell violently ill. They believe that the woman tried to poison him, and when her current husband, aged 75, was taken to hospital, the doctors informed the police. Prior to this incident, Black Widow has spent a few years in prison for manslaughter, theft and forgery in the US and Canada. Twenty years ago she was convicted of drugging her husband and running him over with a car several times. The woman was sentenced to 6 years jail time, but she walked free after only part of her sentence was complete. Then Millie Weeks moved to Florida, where she met another man at a Christian retreat and married him in 2000. However, his health started to falter and his money was gone. Finally, he died of a cardiac arrest in two years.

After this, Millie appears to have discovered the worldwide web as a good method to meet rich widowers. Her first victim was a 73-years-old man from a dating site, who received suspicious injuries over 2 months and the doctors found a strange drug in his system. Of course, his bank account was emptied. Black Widow spent another 5 years in jail for theft and forgery. After she was released in 2009, they deported her to Canada. Now, if the Canadian police are right, Millie Weeks seems to be unpacking her bags and going on the net to search for another victim.
